When you find the basement where the Dreammonger is held, the game tells you to spawn the Masked Man token. However, we didn't find any reference to what this entity(?) actually does. What die we miss?

Ah, that confirms what we guessed. Thanks! Would've been clearer if the token and the NPC had the same name though.
It's not actually an entity. The text to spawn that also tells you to reveal a secret card - which gives rules for the masked man (he is an NPC, not an entity, in this casae).
